N’tsiri Nature Reserve
DIRECTIONS
From Johannesburg & Pretoria via the N4
- Take the N12 (from JHB) or N4 (from PTA) to eMakhazeni (Belfast);
- At eMakhazeni, turn left off the N4 and drive into the Town;
- In eMakhazeni follow the signs to the RIGHT to Dullstroom;
- Pass straight through Dullstroom, to Mashishing (Lydenburg);
- At Mashishing, you come to a T-junction. Turn left; this takes you into Town;
- Look out for signs to Phalaborwa / Ohrigstad on LHS – turn left;
- Follow road through Mashishing to Ohrigstad and onto Hoedspruit;
- Pass through Hoedspruit and turn right after the railway bridge onto the R40 (toward Bushbuckridge);
- Approximately 6km out of Hoedspruit, take the first major tar road to your left. This road is marked to the Eastgate Airport and Timbavati;
- Continue to the ENKHULU CONTROL Gate (18km). (Once through this gate you are in big 5 country, so obey the speed limit!);
- Continue straight for approx 34kms from the Gate. Look out for the N’tsiri Entrance on the left-hand side.
DIRECTIONS
From Johannesburg & Pretoria via the N1
- Take the N1 (from JHB or PTA) to Polokwane;
- Take the R71 offramp towards Tzaneen. Turn right at the intersection (Grobler Street);
- Continue on the R71 towards Magoebaskloof and Tzaneen. Turn right on the R36 towards Tzaneen. Follow the road for approx 4km and take the offramp to the R71 on the left. Turn left;
- Continue through Tzaneen towards Phalaborwa. Continue for approx 88km then turn right onto the R40 towards Hoedspruit;
- Approximately 6km out of Hoedspruit, take the first major tar road to your left. This road is marked to the Eastgate Airport and Timbavati;
- Continue to the ENKHULU CONTROL Gate (18km). (Once through this gate you are in big 5 country, so obey the speed limit!);
- Continue straight for approx 34kms from the Gate. Look out for the N’tsiri Entrance on the left-hand side.
